Welcome to CSI, Your College of Choice!

The Advising Center staff provides advising services to prospective, current, and returning students.  First semester degree seeking students are assigned to a Focused Area Advisor or Academic Coach for assistance with degree planning and advising support resources.  Students are transferred to their major faculty advisor once they have completed 15 college level credits.  Students are highly encouraged and expected to discuss their educational planning and goals with their assigned advisor/academic coach before registering for courses. The student advising process is a shared responsibility between the student and their assigned advisor/academic coach.

Academic Coaches provide a unique service by assisting students one-on-one in reaching their educational potential.  Using a proactive advising approach that caters to specific and personal strengths and goals of each student, an Academic Coach enhances structure and accountability.  Students will be guided toward increased skills and self-reliance in areas like decision-making, time management, study skills, and much more. Students may contact an Academic Coach, make an appointment, or be referred through various sources at CSI.

"Be Wise, Get Advice!"

Advisors are the "cornerstone" to educational planning success. We assist individuals by teaching valuable skills and providing opportunities for personal growth. Typically, students who use advising services meet their college accomplishments on time and take control of their life long planning and goals.

Our Mission

The mission of the Advising Center, in partnership with faculty and staff, is to provide educational planning resources and advising support services to student advisees and the College community, which foster the development of responsibility and decision-making skills needed to achieve degree and life-long goals.
